Class: The purpose of the Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program is to teach people to swim and to help them be safe when they are in, on or around water.  Levels are offered at specific times, so please check with the Welcome Center to see what times are available for the levels you need.

Helpful Information: Children in diapers MUST use tight-fitting rubber pants or specifically designed swim diapers (Little Swimmers, etc.).  Children with contagious illnesses cannot swim while they are contagious.  If your child has a fever, rash, diarrhea or any symptom of an infection they should not participate in lessons that day.  Children over the age of 4 need to use the appropriate locker room.  We have a family locker room located in the pool area.  Everyone must shower before entering the pool.  Please understand that not all children learn to swim at the same pace.  Do not be discouraged if your child has to repeat a session.

A minimum of three participants is needed for a class to be held.

Financial aid is always available for eligible families.  Please contact the YMCA at 234-9187 for further information.
